Steven Thomas | Founder

Steven is a senior advisor and executive search consultant with a specialist focus on commercial leadership in the oilfield services and extractives sectors. His expertise lies in identifying high-impact BD and pursuit leaders who drive growth in frontier and high-barrier markets across MENA, Sub-Saharan Africa, and Central Asia.

Prior to founding VSG, Steven worked in strategic business development consulting with firms including PwC, Deloitte, and independent boutiques, advising clients on market entry, JV structuring, and talent strategy across upstream and infrastructure-linked sectors. He holds a degree in Law from Kings College and has worked across multiple jurisdictions on contract strategy, compliance frameworks, and partner development initiatives.

VSG clients include regional OFS firms, mid-cap operators, and global engineering and EPC companies seeking agile, commercially aggressive leadership. Steven’s network spans former IOCs, NOCs, and tier-one service companies, and he is known for his tacit, insight-led approach to senior hiring.

He is based in London and operates globally.
